I was the youngest of four boys; Brooks is the oldest, Ryan and Damon who are twins and then me. However we all grew up in a small town in southern Vermont called Manchester.

At 13 I began my quest for greatness in the gym, not to keep in shape mind you. No my interest was inspired by my older brother Brooks who I wanted to emulate.
Upon entering High school at 14 I began to direct my workouts for performance and competition as Baseball, wrestling and Ice Hockey became the reasons for training. I graduated from Burr and Burton Seminary (my high school) in the spring of 1997.

That fall I went to Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. I was enrolled in the Physical Education program at first and change my mind a little later on as I made the switch to Exercise Science, Pre-Med. After a year there I decided to transfer to Springfield College in Massachusetts. They have a well known reputation for the athletic fields, and I was ready to bring myself to another level. It was here that I was introduced to the sport of bodybuilding.

I had not considered doing a show until the fall semester that year at S.C. I was guided through my training by a senior who had competed before. His name was John Cena. We decided on a show that was to be held that spring at Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. Thanks to John, I took first in the Heavyweight and Overall in the teenage division and 2nd in the Men’s open Heavyweight. So many thanks to John and all the help he gave me that began my journey.

I then moved to Syracuse, NY in the summer of 1999. Here is where I met Jeramy Freeman, my mentor and very good friend. I also began Personal Training at the Bally Total fitness clubs in town. After placing third in the Syracuse Ironman in 2000 and 2nd in 2001 I approached Jeramy about working with me for my competitions. He so graciously agreed and that was the beginning of very good friendship. With his guidance he led me through several shows and helped me make tremendous changes in my physique. (The 2001 Howell, NJ Golds gym Classic where I took 5th, the 2002 Syracuse Ironman where I took 3rd, the 2002 NY States where I took 1st, and the 2002 Jr Nationals where I took 4th).

In 2003 I waited to compete until the Nationals as I was blessed with a beautiful daughter on February 10th; Victoria Joy Mone, she is my little Angel!!!

It was also in that spring when I began to work for Jeramy and his company, Well Rounded Health and Fitness. Again with Jeramy’s guidance we pressed on taking 9th at the Nationals in 2003, 2nd at the Jr Nationals in 2004, 2nd at the North Americans in 2004 and 6th at the Nationals in 2005.
